Starting a company after your doctorate is certainly an interesting option, especially with regard to sustainability and the development of climate-friendly technologies. Or have you ever thought about working in a start-up in this field and would you like to find out more? At our next Campus Club networking session with Maryline and Marek, you will have the opportunity to learn first-hand about these two career options. We are delighted that both have agreed to share their experiences with us and present their key findings: What are the requirements? When is the best time to start developing a business idea? What could be hurdles, what are effective aids or support tools? And what about building a team in a growing structure and being an employee in a small structure?
Our aim is to give early career researchers concrete perspectives through this informal way of introducing interesting people and to bring together people from different disciplines and encourage further co-operation.

Featured guests at the upcoming event
- Dr. Maryline Ralaiarisoa, Scientific Project Leader at Yellow-SiC Development GmbH
After studying physics and earning her doctorate at Humboldt University of Berlin, Maryline started 2019 a first postdoc position in interface and material analysis for photovoltaics at CNRS/ Institut Photovoltaique d’Île-de-France (IPVF) and then 2020 a second postdoc in the field of ambient pressure X-ray and photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) at HZB Berlin. In 2023, she decided to join the Yellow-SiC Development GmbH in Adlershof as a scientific project leader in the field of renewable energies.
- Dr. Marek Checinski, Founder and Chief Scientific Officer at CreativeQuantum GmbH and Carbon One
After studying chemistry at Humboldt University of Berlin and earning his doctorate in catalysis at the Leibniz Institute for Catalysis (LIKAT), Marek recognized early on the importance of quantum mechanical simulations for the future of chemical research. He established CreativeQuantum GmbH, one of the world's leading service providers in this field. Marek is the inventor of C1 technology and uses his pioneering know-how at C1 purposefully to develop climate-friendly chemical processes.
We welcome any questions throughout, and we invite you to remain after the talks, as there will be an opportunity to talk and network over light refreshments.
