Wir möchten Sie in diesem Newsletter auf auf die diesjährige OPTO in der Nähe von Paris aufmerksam machen, die vom 22.-24.10.02 stattfindet (Näheres s. u. bzw. unter www.exposium.com/en/contenu/base/infosalon.htm. Einige Firmen unseres Standortes werden dort auch als Aussteller vertreten sein, allen Anderen wird der Besuch der OPTO wärmstens empfohlen.
Die WISTA-MANANGMENT GMBH macht auf der OPTO gemeinsame Sache mit der OptecBB für den Standort Adlershof.
Falls es von Ihrer Seite Wünsche für die Herstellung von bestimmten Kontakten in der französischen Rgion Ile de France (Paris und Umgebung) gibt, teilen Sie uns das bitte umgehend mit. Denn hier gibt es einige große und interessante Firmen wie Alcatel etc. Herr Dr. Ludwig (Tel. 6392-2252) wird sich um den gewünschten Kontakt bemühen, dasselbe gilt natürlich auch für Ihre Kooperationswünsche. Des Weiteren wird zwischen der OpticsValley, einem der Organisatoren der OPTO, und dem Berlin/Brandenburger Netzwerk OptecBB ein Kooperationsabkommen unterzeichnet, das den Adlershofer- sowie den Französischen Firmen folgende Vorteile bieten soll:
- Erleichterungen bei direkten Firmen-Kooperationen durch direkte Kontakte vor Ort
- gegenseitige Förderung von Firmenansiedlungen bzw. erleichterte Eröffnung von Dependancen
- Vorteile bei EU-Ausschreibungen
- Verbesserung des Informationsflusses (Newsletter, Veranstaltungen..., Voneinander lernen, also Anwendung von Best Practice)

The optics industry will host the OPTO 2002 exhibition in
Paris on 22, 23 and 24 October.
This year, in addition to giving visitors the opportunity to get an overview of the most recent technological progress and related services in the field, OPTO 2002 will highlight five major themes that particularly characterize the most promising markets in the optics industry:
Very high data rate optical networks (LAN, MAN, and WAN), with a special focus on metropolitan area networks,
MEMS technology for optical telecommunications,
Plastic fibre optics for increasingly diverse applications,
Biophotonics: where optics meets biotechnology (for the health sector).
Covering a floor area of over 5,000 sq.m, OPTO 2002 will group the entire range of products and services in the optics industry - Very high data rate optical networks, Lasers and industrial laser systems, Optical solutions for testing and measurement, Optical and optoelectronic components for integrators (OEMs), Nanotechnology, Imaging and display, Lighting and signalling, and Services (training and communications) - enabling decision-makers and key influencers to structure, facilitate and successfully implement their plans.
Over 8,000 visitors are expected, mostly from sectors that are major consumers of optical solutions and applications, such as the aeronautics, space, military, automotive, telecommunications, research (industrial and medical, among others), construction and infrastructure, and transport fields.

We would also like to announce that a round of conferences - organized by such event partners as Club Optique, GIFO (the French optics manufacturers association), SFO (Société Française d'Optique), Optics Valley, Club Nanotechnologie and the FIA (Fibreoptic Industry Association) - will take place in conjunction with the exhibition itself.
Finally, OPTO 2002 will occur in the same place and at the same time as two other major professional events: the brand new MESUREXPO -Exposition de Physique 2002 and Electronics Week 2002.
