Additional 8,000 sqm for the "Energiewende"
The new Centre for Photovoltaics and Renewable Energies (ZPV) in the Science and Technology Park Berlin Adlershof offers best conditions to companies in the field of the Energiewende (“energy turnaround”). There are 8.000 sqm of rentable space with highly equipped laboratories, production halls, offices, as well as a canteen.
1,200 employees in nearly 50 of the companies in the field of renewable energies in Berlin Adlershof foster the Energiewende. Numerous of the companies and institutes from the site in the field of renewables are well established internationally. The new Centre for Photovoltaics and Renewable Energies, inaugurated in November 2013, attracts additional actors of this technology field to settle in Berlin Adlershof.
30% of the rentable space in the ZPV is yet occupied by companies like Graforce Hydro GmbH or X-Visual Technologies GmbH. Graforce Hydro GmbH produces hydrogen with a completely new high efficiency electrolysis process in such a bulk, that there is need for a very big storage system in Adlershof.
X-Visual-Technologies GmbH was chosen out of 5000 applicants by Initiative Mittelstand as award-winner „BEST OF 2014“ in the category branch software. Their Visio-based software solution for process engineering enables perfect interaction of visual and technical data.
WISTA-MANAGEMENT GMBH as the operating company of the Science and Technology Park Berlin Adlershof, together with all Stakeholders, aims to reduce the proposed primary energy consumption of 2020 by 30% and thereby ensure an energy efficient growth of the Hightech site. Germany’s largest Science and Technology Park Berlin Adlershof harbours on 1,038 acres 996 companies, 15,553 employees, 8,500 students, 16 research institutes and generates a revenue of 1,8 Billion € per year.
