Adlershof Physicist has been elected a Fellow of the American Physical Society
Prof. Dr. Günter Steinmeyer, Head of the Department of Solid State Light Sources at the Max Born Institute and since September 2017 Professor of Nonlinear Ultrafast Optics at the Department of Physics at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, has been elected a fellow of the American Physical Society.
Citation: For outstanding contributions to ultrafast nonlinear optics, in particular for the development of pulse characterization techniques, the experimental demonstration of pulse self-compression through laser filamentation, and the investigations of higher-order nonlinear susceptibilities and rogue waves.
