A² Accelerator Berlin is one of Germany’s top accelerators

Start-ups evaluate their participation in accelerator programmes for a survey of the University of Applied Sciences Cologne

The A² Accelerator Berlin Adlershof leads the rankings with its combination of theory, practice and networking

A study carried out by the University of Applied Sciences Cologne for the first time surveyed 110 start-up entrepreneurs, who had taken part in accelerator programmes, as well as operators, investors, and managers of accelerators. The study’s aim was to get an overview of the accelerator landscape, provide guidance to entrepreneurs, and create a feedback tool for accelerators. The ranking comprised 15 accelerators, which were evaluated regarding financing, acquisition, value accretion, networking, and satisfaction. Most start-ups viewed their participation very positively, saying it resulted in an increase in company value. Following evaluation of the assessment criteria, the accelerators were divided into ranking classes. The A² Accelerator, which was in its second round at the time of the study, brought home a bronze medal.

Since 2016, the A² Accelerator Programme of WISTA Management GmbH has been supporting between five and eight teams of business founders every year in realising their ideas in cooperation with established companies. Under this year’s motto “Smart City”, the accelerator’s participants are addressing the challenges of future cities.
