Tech and Spaces: Photonics and Materials Innovation for Circular Economy (Photonics Week)

Tuesday, 08. October 2024 // 12.30 - 17.00

WISTA Management GmbH, Circular Cities, Circular Berlin

Rudower Chaussee 29, 12489 Berlin
Leap Quantum Technology Hub & Events, IGZ

Join us for an insightful knowledge-sharing and networking session exploring how new materials and deep tech can drive circular processes in the industries, such as construction, food, textile and many others. This event aims to unite innovators, experts, and industry partners to uncover the potential of Optic, Photonics, and Material (OPM) technologies in enhancing circular economy strategies, including resource-efficient design, production, repair, refurbishment, remanufacturing, and recycling.

Building on insights from the ‘Tech & Spaces for Circular Economy’ project, speakers from different industries will discuss the technical, financial, and mechanical barriers to circular practices and highlight opportunities for breakthroughs in OPM fields.

The session includes:

  • Welcome: Creative Climate Cities, Circular Berlin, and WISTA Management GmbH
  • Project Insights: Overview of the ‘Tech & Spaces for Circular Economy’ project focusing on key technologies driving circular
  • Panel discussion:
    • Applications of OPM technologies in fostering circular industrial processes
    • Collaborations across value chains for enhanced circularity
  • Co-design: Diving in into the solutions provided by Deep Tech Technologies for the circular economy need
  • Final Remarks: Invitation to upcoming co-creative workshops

This event is ideal for professionals, innovators, companies, and organisations interested in leveraging deep tech and Optics, Photonics and Material science technologies to enable circular economy practices across sectors. Whether you work in technology, manufacturing, sustainability, or policy-making, you'll gain valuable insights and networking opportunities.
